Before, during, after

Clubs and wraparound care.

Breakfast Club from 7.45am, after-school clubs that change term-by-term, and full wraparound care via Play. Three ways to extend the school day for your family.

Before school

Breakfast Club.

Our own school-run Breakfast Club starts the day with a calm, friendly hour before lessons. Open to every year group, every weekday in term time.

Swiss Gardens Primary

Breakfast Club

7.45am – 8.45am

£5 per session

Open to all year groups

Term-time, weekdays

How it works.

Drop off any time from 7.45am at the school office entrance. Children settle into the hall with a healthy breakfast — toast, cereal, fruit, juice — and then move on to quiet activities or get-up-and-go games until the school day starts at 8.40am.

Run by the school's own staff. Familiar faces, familiar surroundings, a soft start to the day for children whose parents need to be at work earlier.

To book or to ask anything about Breakfast Club, contact the school office on 01273 453176 or office@sgprimary.co.uk.

After school — sports, arts, music, languages

After-school clubs.

Thirteen different clubs run across the week, a mix of school-staff-led and external-partner-led. School-staff clubs book via SchoolPing; external-partner clubs book direct on the provider's website. The current term's specifics — start dates, costs, places — go out on SchoolPing at the start of each term.

How to book

School-staff clubs (Netball, Construction, Cross Country, Yoga, Samba, Choir) book via SchoolPing — first-come, first-served, popular ones fill quickly. External-partner clubs book direct on the provider's website (linked above).

Cost

School-staff clubs are free or low-cost. External-provider clubs are paid (rates set by each provider). Families eligible for benefits-based Free School Meals — please ask the school office about subsidies.

Pick-up

Most after-school clubs end at 4.15pm. The club leader signs your child out at the school office entrance; Cross Country is collected from Buckingham Park. External evening sessions (e.g. Collection Dance up to 7pm) are direct with the provider.

Full wraparound care

Wraparound care with Play.

Beyond the school's own Breakfast Club, our onsite after-school provider is Play, who took over from Junior Adventures Group in September 2026. Full childcare cover every school day until 6pm.

After school

3.15pm to 6pm, every day

Creative activities such as art, craft, design and cooking, and sport including football, benchball, gymnastics and dodgeball. Children who'd rather lead their own play can choose from small world, construction, book nooks and sensory play, indoors and out.

Different from the school's own after-school clubs (usually 3.15pm – 4.15pm and topic-specific): Play is full childcare cover.

Pick-up times

Short stay or full session

Book until 4.30pm for a shorter stay, or the full session to 6pm. Children staying until 6pm have a hot meal at 5pm. It caters for all dietary requirements, and the menu runs on a two-week cycle.

Booking

Book with Play

The timetable, menu and booking form are on Play's Swiss Gardens page. For anything else, email marcus@plaype.co.uk.
