Help shape our school
We're looking for our next governor.
Swiss Gardens
Primary School
The best schools have the best support around them. We need skilled people to help shape the strategic leadership of Swiss Gardens and provide robust accountability — and we'd particularly love to hear from people who reflect the diversity of our community.
What you'd be doing
School governors set the school's ethos, vision and direction; make sure money is well used; and hold the school to account for the quality of education and the safety of every child. The full body meets twice a term, with smaller working groups in between — about a half-day a month in total.
What we'd especially welcome
Skills and experience around finance, risk, data, safeguarding, SEND, HR, marketing and communications, or health & safety — but no prior governor experience is required. Plenty of training and mentoring is available.
What we're looking for in a person
- A desire to contribute to and represent our community
- An open and enquiring mind
- Confidence to ask questions and join in debate
- The ability to look at issues strategically and objectively
- Willingness to give your time for the greater good
Interested? Have a chat with our Chair, Mrs Sue Uff, or our Headteacher, Mrs Naomi Doble — via the school office at office@sgprimary.co.uk or 01273 453176. No experience required, no commitment from a first conversation.
