The Wellbeing Room
A warm, calm space — different from any classroom — where children come to regulate, talk, draw or just sit. Mrs Halfpenny, our wellbeing coordinator, is here.
Who we are
“I want it all for our children.” — Mrs Naomi Doble, our Headteacher.
A welcome from our Headteacher
I joined as Headteacher at Swiss Gardens in September 2024. I have been working in education for over twenty years — in schools across Brighton, Southwick and Worthing — and I grew up very close by. I'm extremely passionate about the educational opportunities offered to children in this area.
Professionally, my vision for education is clear: I want it all for our children. Every decision I make is with the children at the centre of everything we do — with heart and rigour in equal measure. Alongside governors and my leadership team, I strive to create a school based on shared values of kindness, respect, and dreaming big.

The places we love
Four places anchor the school's life: our library, our nature garden, our field, and the small room where children come to feel calm.
Inside the school
Named after Lawrence Caughlin, the Headteacher who led the project, and opened by Julia Donaldson. A bright, welcoming room where the whole school comes to read.

Front of school
A hidden gem of a nature area — wildflowers, ponds, apple trees, bug nooks and crannies. Funded by the school and PTA. A place to read; a place for nature clubs.
Named for the nursery rhyme — “Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?” Read about Mary's Garden →
Behind the school
Our green play space — pupils-only during the school day, sports and after-school clubs beyond. Fenced and overlooked by grand trees. Next to the allotments and a community park.
