Swiss Gardens PTA
A registered charity, run by parents, for the school.
Every parent of a current pupil — and every member of school staff — is automatically a member of Swiss Gardens PTA. Together, we raise over £8,000 a year for the school's children.
Who we are
Independent. Volunteer-run. For the school's children.
Swiss Gardens PTA is a registered charity, run by parents, carers and school staff. We're independent from the school — but everything we do is for it.
Our mission is twofold: to raise money that funds activities, equipment and experiences the school's budget can't stretch to, and to build community — bringing parents together through events, big and small.
Notice of upcoming meetings and events goes out via the school's SchoolPing system. You can also follow the PTA on Instagram or Facebook (links below). Our annual AGM is in the Autumn — every parent or carer is welcome to attend, or to apply to join the team.
£8,000+
Raised by Swiss Gardens PTA each year — every penny goes back to the children.
How we raise it
What's on the rolling year.
Every event below is run by parent and staff volunteers. Most return year on year; specific dates are announced on the PTA's social channels and on SchoolPing.
- Christmas & Summer fairs Our two biggest community days — crafts, games, food, drink, performances. Everyone welcome.
- Halloween & Easter discos Halloween for Years 3–6, Easter for Reception–Y2. The dance moves are uniformly excellent.
- Quiz nights Adult and family editions. Pub-quiz format with prizes from the local community.
- Christmas cards Designed by your child — order forms come home in November.
- Pancake flip & the Head's July fundraiser Sponsored events, one in spring and one in summer.
- Cake sales Homemade cakes in the playground. Run by the PTA's amazing baking squad of volunteers.
- Weekly school lottery Run via Your School Lottery — winnings split with the PTA.
- Dress-down days Termly. Suggested donation £1 — non-uniform for the children, funds for the school.
- Pre-loved uniform sales Around each new term. Affordable uniform, less waste.
- Creative events & competitions Throughout the year — small-scale, child-led where possible.

The team
The volunteers behind it.
An elected board of four trustees plus a wider team of fourteen general members — all voted in at the annual AGM each Autumn. Five minutes a term or five hours a week — there's a slot that fits. We pull together to support each other; it's totally OK to step back when life is busier.
